Based out of the state of Florida Out Of Darkness is a band not to be taken lightly.
Formed in late 2019 after founding members drummer Brent “Deadly” Smedley (ex
Iced Earth) and powerhouse vocalist/guitarist Eric Barrios met through a mutual
friend. After the pair stopped at a local jam night they soon discovered they had
instant musical chemistry. It was from this meeting that Out Of Darkness was
formed.
The 2 started working on songs for what will be their first release. Their music has
been described as a heavy version of Queen because of their ability to fuse different
styles of heavy music which helps them create the unique Out Of Darkness sound.
After narrowing down their songs to 6 and many hours of practice it was time to enter
the studio. So in late March of 2020 the guys entered the studio to begin recording
their debut release „Seize The Day“. The first single „KNTRL“ featuring Bobby
Koelble (Death) on lead guitar was independently released in July of 2020 along with
a lyric video for the song.

With the recording complete it was now time to focus on finding the rest of the line-
up. The first addition was the sensational Bronzell Smith on bass. Bronzell was
quickly followed by blazing lead guitarist Cody Suchomski. Out Of Darkness made
their debut in late Sept of 2020 and after a few shows had created enough of a buzz
that offers from labels started coming in. As a result, Out of Darkness released their
first EP, called „Seize The Day“, in March 2021 along with the Curtain Call Records
label. The single „Seize The Day“ from that album, reached directly 23 on the
Billboard Rock Indicator charts. Also the hard-hitting song „Think Again”, reached
the Billboard Rock Indicator and Most Increased Plays and the Foundations Top 10
Charts. In 2021 as well, Out of Darkness was named one of the Best Up and
Coming bands in the world by Metal Crash Radio.
With the success of their EP, the band has been on a heavy tour schedule
throughout the Southeast and Midwest regions of the United States. This first trip
included festivals as well as their own headline shows and opening for bands like A
Killers Confession (Waylon Reavis-Mushroomhead). As 2021 came to an end Out Of
Darkness added that last piece of the puzzle when Guitarist Bill Staley came on
board.
With no signs of stopping, a video for „I Surrender” was released in early Summer
of 2022 to a wide variety of outlets and media with rave reviews. More shows up the
East Coast and Midwest followed by dates through out the Gulf Coast (if possible
some more) will be played in 2022 too. At the same time, the band also had already
started the first studio work for their first full album, which is to be released in 2023.
